The Burren Smokehouse was set up in 1989 and features a visitor centre above the production facility where you can get a tasting of our Burren smoked Irish Organic salmon. A video about the smoking process can be watched free of charge available in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Swedish. You can discover mosaics inside and outside our visitor centre, and look at the first kiln we used when we first set up the Burren Smokehouse. We are passionate about our Irish, local foods that you can buy in our gourmet shop. We are associated with Slow Food Ireland and help organise the annual Burren Slow Food Festival which takes place every May in Lisdoonvarna. We are also member of Good Food Ireland and of course of the Burren Ecotourism Network and within it, the Burren Food Trail. Our range includes Our own smoked organic salmon, smoked mackerel, trout; Locally produced dairy, goat and sheep cheese specialities; Irish craft products and gifts; Delicacies like jams, chocolates, biscuits, fruit wine from County Clare, mead, seaweed products, seasoning & honeys. We offer a worldwide mail order service in our visitor centre and on our website customers can pick from our wide range of products and have them shipped to themselves or friends and family as a souvenir from Ireland. Feel free to ask us any questions you may have, we will be happy to answer them for you. The centre can also cater for groups of up to 50 people booking in advance is necessary.
