Website Cliffs of Moher Experience

Planning a holiday in Ireland? Make sure you visit the Cliffs of Moher during your time in Clare
One of Ireland’s favourite visitor experiences, the Cliffs of Moher tower over the rugged west Clare coast. Walk the safe, paved pathways and view the incredible Cliffs that sit on Europe’s most westerly tip and enjoy the spectacular vistas over the Atlantic Ocean and the Aran Islands. Their natural beauty has inspired artists, musicians, and poets for generations, as well as absorbing scientists and geologists, drawn by the unique landscape in which they sit. The Cliffs of Moher will leave you awestruck, creating memories that will stay with you forever.

The Cliffs of Moher are dramatic sea cliffs stretching for 5 miles and rising 702 feet above the Atlantic Ocean. The Cliffs offer a perfect day out featuring 800 metres of safe paved pathways with three viewing platforms to drink in the views of the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, and even county Kerry.

The Cliffs of Moher are part of the Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Geopark, one of three designated geoparks in the county and renowned as an area of very significant geological interest. As part of the geopark, the Cliffs of Moher strives to provide sustainable tourism, support livelihoods, and ensure a cared-for landscape.

It is a special protected area (SPA) for birds and wildlife since 1979, home to over 20 different species of birds with 30,000 pairs on-site during the breeding season. Home to kittiwakes, guillemots, fulmars, peregrine falcons and the ever-popular puffin

The Cliffs of Moher are a sought-after movie and TV location and have had a best supporting role in such films as The Princess Bride and Harry Potter and the half-blood prince.
